ABout Our
Proposal
In January 2022, we announced a plan to build a shopping center anchored by a grocery store at the southwest corner of Jacaranda Boulevard and Border Road. Located near the entrance of the Milano neighborhood and across from the entrance to the Venetian Golf & River Club, this shopping center would also include casual dining and other shopping. The initial plans, part of the Milano PUD (planned unit development), included a 47,240 square-foot supermarket and another 16,000 square feet of stores and a casual, eat-in restaurant. In June, we submitted to the City of Venice’s Planning & Zoning Department a proposal for a plat amendment, zoning amendment and site development plan to construct the commercial center.
WHY DOES NEAL COMMUNITIES
WANT TO BUILD A NEIGHBORHOOD RETAIL CENTER?
We are committed to building communities, not just constructing homes. That means we are involved on many levels and invest in the places that make this a great location to live and raise a family. We know that the predicted growth of North Venice is going to call for a neighborhood commercial center to help improve your quality of life.
We are committed to your North Venice. A company’s greatest strength lies in its collective ability to make a positive impact in the community. For us, this means giving back time and resources to construct local infrastructure (such as parks, road improvements and neighborhood retail centers) that contribute to the quality of life we all enjoy in Southwest Florida.
We listen and want to work with you. Neal Communities is dedicated to helping create a North Venice that you are proud to call home. We will go above and beyond to hear your thoughts and concerns as we move forward with our proposal to build a neighborhood commercial center designed to offer you convenient grocery and dining near your home and improve your quality of life.
We believe in giving back. Over the years, Pat Neal and Neal Communities have championed academic, athletic, cultural, environmental and philanthropic programs that support the arts, community, non-profit and educational organizations. A tradition of giving back to the communities where we live and work benefits us all.
We recently gave $15,000 to Venice Main Street for its Friday night concert series.
We recently gave $10,000 to the Laurel Civic Agency to support several community programs.
